Jewel tones of yellow, deep red, pink, and lavender create an inviting palette for our exclusive Autumn Tapestry Fall Container Garden. The multi-colored blooms of a favorite Marigold (Tagetes) and the spider-form flowers of a lavender-pink Hardy Mum bring vibrant colors to this mix amid the dark foliage of a low-growing Ajuga, the ruffly, blue-green leaves of an Ornamental Cabbage with purple highlights, and the slender, coppery-olive blades of a breezy Carex. 5 plants total, 1 of each variety listed below. Container not included.
- Cabbage Osaka 'Red'
- Carex testacea
- Tagetes patula 'Strawberry Blonde' (US 10,750,692)
- Chrysanthemum 'Fireworks Igloo' (PP 26,666)
- Ajuga reptans Walberton's® 'Black Scallop'
Some plants require more space in container gardens than others. To accommodate the 5 plants in this collection, we recommend a container at least 14" in diameter and 12" deep.
This collection is shown in our medium Cretan Pot Panos, which is sold separately. Click here to order.
If you choose to overwinter your plants, they will need a little special treatment. Although we can’t guarantee your plants’ successful return next year, here are our best recommendations.
In climates where winter temperatures drop well below freezing, containers should be dismantled in late fall. The Carex, Chrysanthemum, and Ajuga are perennials and can be planted in the ground. Simply discard the Tagetes and Ornamental Cabbage which are annuals and will not survive in areas below 20°F. In mild-winter climates (Zone 8 and warmer), these plants can be left outdoors in containers.
