Splitting a little kindling or trimming wood around camp does not always call for a full-size axe. This Prandi German hatchet keeps things manageable with a compact 14.18-inch hickory-briar handle and a 1.32-pound head sized for controlled one-handed work.
Its German Type DIN 5131 profile gives it a familiar working shape for camping, travel and bushcraft tasks. The brown briar-style hickory handle is finished with a leather string, and the tool weighs about 1.8 pounds overall. Made in Italy, it brings traditional axe-making know-how to a useful size for the truck, cabin or gear box.
